Resalta project shortlisted for Energy Awards 2026
Resalta’s project at Grand Hotel Bernardin in Slovenia has been shortlisted for the Energy Awards 2026 in the category Energy Efficient Project.
The project represents a comprehensive upgrade of the hotel’s heating and cooling system, replacing an outdated, fossil-based setup with a fully integrated solution powered by seawater.
By harnessing the thermal potential of the sea through advanced water-to-water heat pump technology, the system now delivers heating, cooling, and domestic hot water through a centralized and optimised energy system.
This approach significantly improves operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact. The project achieves:
- approximately 40% reduction in energy costs
- 81% share of renewable energy
- substantial annual CO₂ emissions reduction
Beyond the results, the project demonstrates the value of rethinking energy systems as a whole — combining engineering expertise, system integration, and a deep understanding of client needs.
“This project is a strong example of how complex facilities can transition to more sustainable energy systems without compromising performance or reliability,” said Luka Komazec, Resalta CEO.
The Energy Awards recognise outstanding achievements in energy efficiency and sustainable solutions. Winners will be announced at the Days of Energy conference in April.
